MARINETTE — The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Marinette Campus conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier this month to celebrate renovations at the Herbert L. Williams Theatre and the Fine Arts Gallery. Renovations were made possible by $600,000 in support from Marinette County and donors for the “Take A Seat” campaign, who were able to see their engraved seat plaques for the first time at the May 5 event.
The ribbon cutting took place at the Herbert L. Williams Theatre, 750 W. Bay Shore St. Guests were also invited to attend a performance of “Clue: On Stage.”
The featured speaker at the ribbon cutting was Lauryn Albaugh, director of the Herbert L. Williams Theatre. There were special performances by local talent, including UW-Green Bay alumnus Chase Grabowski and Lisa Atkinson-LeBoeuf, accompanied by Brittany Welch Pilz.
An acknowledgment was made by Dawn Crim, UW-Green Bay Vice Chancellor for Advancement, Community Engagement & Inclusivity, who publicly thanked the 27 “Take a Seat” donors and community leaders, recognizing their generous contributions to the theatre.
This ribbon-cutting exemplifies UW-Green Bay’s commitment to fostering arts and culture at the UW-Green Bay Marinette Campus. It serves as an opportunity to celebrate and appreciate the impact of donor generosity on the artistic landscape of our community.
• During May, an exhibit will be on display in the Fine Arts Gallery. It is a collection of photos taken and donated by Katie Harpt — she is a former Theatre on the Bay photographer. In addition to her photos on display in the Fine Arts Gallery this month, a collection of them will be permanently displayed in the Theatre’s Concessions Room.
