Professor Cary Waubanascum named Aspen Institute Ascend Fellow

University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Professor Cary Waubanascum is announced as one of 20 members of the 2023 Class of Aspen Institute Ascend Fellows. As part of this Fellowship, Prof. Waubanascum will learn from and with her cohort as she continues training the next generation of social workers to prioritize intergenerational love and familial connection in child welfare. Prof. Waubanascum will participate in four Fellows Forums over the next 18 months, three of which are located in Aspen, Colorado. The Ascend Fellowship is a prestigious national Fellowship which has counted leaders like Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, and guaranteed income innovator Aisha Nyandoro among its previous classes. To date, there have been only 140 Ascend Fellows selected since its inception in 2012, each committed to building the political will, changing systems, and driving the policy agenda needed for the well-being and prosperity of all children and families.
