Learn about the Fox River cleanup as P. David Allen II and Susan Campbell discuss their new book
Join P. David Allen II and Susan Campbell as they discuss their 2023 book, ‘Paper Valley,’ which tells the true 1990s story behind the world’s largest, most divisive, most politically charged environmental river cleanup of its kind: the $1.3 billion fix for widespread chemical contamination of Wisconsin’s Fox River, a key Great Lakes tributary. This free event will be held Monday, April 24, from 5-6 p.m. on the 4th floor of the Cofrin Library.
UW-Green Bay distinguished alum Greg Neuschafer (’73), in partnership with UW-Green Bay Teaching Press and UW-Green Bay Libraries, will unveil their new digital collection and companion publication with rich documents, articles, timelines, and more, detailing the PCB cleanup of the lower Fox River.
Several UW-Green Bay faculty involved in the fight for the Fox River cleanup, among them Dr. Michael Kraft, professor emeritus, will join the discussion. Don’t miss this chance to engage with the authors and UW-Green Bay faculty and gain deeper insights into environmental advocacy, scientific research, journalism, historical writing, and more.
