Chancellor’s Veteran Reception set for Monday, Nov. 12
The Chancellor’s Veteran Reception will be taking place on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 at 4 p.m. in the Phoenix Rooms located in UW-Green Bay’s University Union. Rep. Mike Gallagher, representing Wisconsin’s 8th District, will serve as the guest speaker at the event. Gallagher joined the United States Marine Corps. after graduating from college. Come and enjoy refreshments, music by UW-Green Bay students and veteran camaraderie. All are welcome to join UW-Green Bay faculty, staff and students at the reception. This event is one of many taking place during UW-Green Bay’s Veterans Week.

The Triple Jazz Festival will be performed at UW-Green Bay, Sheboygan Campus on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the University Theater. Performances will include the South High School Jazz Ensemble I, led by Mr. Wade Heinen, the UW-Green Bay, Sheboygan Campus Jazz Ensemble led by Associate Lecturer Paul Sucherman (Music) and special guest group Jeff Schieble’s Generations Big Band. The community is invited to enjoy live jazz music performed by some of the best in the area. Tickets are $10 for adults and free to all students with a college ID. Parade Float Committee collecting books for Back to School Store
Once again the Holiday Parade Float Committee is preparing to participate in the Green Bay Holiday Parade. The 35th Annual Prevea Holiday Parade will take place Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018. In honor of this year’s theme, “Christmas Stories,” the Float Committee will be collecting books for local children. The books will be distributed at Service League Green Bay’s Back to School Store returning to the Green Bay Campus in August 2019. Donate new and gently-used books at the kindergarten through middle school reading level to collection sites across campus. Please do not donate holiday books. Machuca is new CEO assistant at Sheboygan Campus
Congratulations to Sue Machuca, a former marketing specialist and buyer for The Phoenix Bookstore, she will now serve as campus & executive officer assistant at the Sheboygan Campus. Machuca worked at the Green Bay Campus for more than 14 years and prior to that, was a teacher and administrator for 14 years.

Reminder: Trick-or-Treat Tot Trot event to take place on Monday, Oct. 29
The UW-Green Bay Office of Residence Life will be hosting a Trick-or-Treat Tot Trot, a family-friendly and safe Halloween event, on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with participants and their chaperones asked to check-in at the Mauthe Center. Faculty and staff are welcome to bring their own kids! Focused on pre-kindergarten through elementary school-age children, the event will provide participants with a fun-filled trick-or-treating experience right here on campus. Learn more.
