Walk this way: Labyrinth in the quad helps freshmen on learning path

Tag icon , ,

Wondering about the bright-orange addition to the campus quad? It’s all in a day’s — make that a class period’s — work for Prof. Regan Gurung and his freshman seminar class. Gurung and his 25 “Gods, Ghosts and Goblins” students spent their Tuesday (Nov. 27) class period creating a large labyrinth in conjunction with their studies on the psychology of belief. The labyrinth traditionally has been used for prayer, meditation and self-reflection, and — unlike the maze for which it often is mistaken — has only a single path, allowing intense focus for those who traverse it. You can find out more about the project and check out some great photos, here.
