Release of investigation results could be delayed

UW-Green Bay confirmed for local reporters Wednesday that under a relatively new provision of the state open records law pertaining to public employees, it could be 10 days or more between the time Chancellor Tom Harden receives a report from investigator Joseph Nicks and eventual release of any information – if that is to occur – to the public. Wisconsin Statute 19.356 allows an employee up to 10 days to contest which parts, if any, of such a report would be released, and which might be redacted. The case involves complaints filed against the Phoenix men’s basketball program by the families of two former players. The Green Bay Press-Gazette had coverage.
