The Phoenix women earned an impressive win in their Horizon League opener Wednesday (Jan. 8), besting Illinois-Chicago 66-50 in front of 1,600-plus fans at the Kress Events Center. The win marks the team’s 20th straight victory in conference openers, a perfect run since joining the Horizon League in 1994 (11 of those victories have taken place under head coach Kevin Borseth). Sophomore forward Kaili Lukan and freshman guard Tesha Buck both had career-high scoring nights, notching 22 and 20 points, respectively. For more.
