Faculty note: Urban and Regional’s Dalke presents at major conferences

Karen Dalke, a lecturer in anthropology and sociology for the Urban and Regional Studies program, made presentations this past summer at two international conferences devoted to the study of human-animal interactions. She addressed the topic “Adopting a Mustang through an Anthropological Lens: Exploring Cultural Concepts Across Species” at the Minding Animals Conference in the Netherlands in July. A week later, she shared results of her “Thrill Killing” research at the International Society for Anthrozoology 2012 Conference, held at Murray-Edwards College in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
