Gaurav Bansal, assistant professor of Business Administration, was named president of the Midwest Association for Information Systems for the year 2014-2014, at the recent meeting hosted by Iowa State University. The Midwest Association serves Association for Information Systems members in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Additionally, Bansal’s research on the role of CEO gender and response type (apology vs. denial) in restoring users’ trust following an insider privacy breach took the first place award at the MWAIS meeting. The Cofrin School of Business professor acknowledges his two undergraduate students, Benjamin Lindberg and Charles Reimer, who assisted him in this project.
