We’ll share more details as they develop, but Prof. Brian Sutton of Humanistic Studies reports that his original musical comedy Searching for Romeo, first staged last summer at UW-Green Bay, has a reasonably good chance of being staged at The New York Music Theatre Festival in July. No guarantees, but “Romeo” is one of 10 productions that are so-called “Next Link” finalists to be judged by a review panel consisting mainly of people who have won Tony Awards or Emmy Awards or Obie (off-Broadway) Awards. If you scroll down from this link, you’ll get a list of the judges, as well as other information about the Next Link Project: www.nymf.org/Page.603.About+Next+Link.
