Brigadier General is special guest for veterans event

The guest speaker for the Chancellor’s Veterans Reception next month has been announced. It will be Brigadier General William Gothard of the 353rd Civil Affairs Command.  The 432nd Civil Affairs Unit in Green Bay falls under his command. All members of the University community but especially veterans — including students, faculty and staff — are invited along with dignitaries from the surrounding community to participate in the event at 4 p.m. Nov. 11 in Phoenix Room B of the University Union. Gothard’s military honors include Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Expert Infantryman Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab and more. He holds degrees from the University of Dayton and Webster University and strategic studies degrees from the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force war colleges. More about the event.
