Memorial Garden planting is May 4

The UW-Green Bay Memorial Garden next to the campus carillon will be the gathering place between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (May 4) when the second annual “in memoriam” plantings take place. The garden was created for students, faculty, alumni and staff to plant a flower in remembrance of deceased loved ones. The garden is promoted by the students of AMF, a student-led grief support group. All members of the campus community are invited to participate. Flowering annuals are provided; no need to bring your own. We’ll have more details on next Wednesday’s activities, which will include a brief program, in an upcoming issue.



Donations welcome, students say

The student group that coordinates planting-day activities at the Memorial Garden notes that donations enable the program to be no-charge for students and other participants. They write: “By contributing, you (are) part of one of the first-ever memorial gardens at universities in the United States…   if you would graciously like to contribute this year to the Memorial Garden to keep it beautiful and flowering every year, please contact Prof. Illene Noppe (adviser to students of AMF) at noppei@uwgb.edu.
