Last Saturday, April 12, five volunteer UW-Green Bay staff members and two family members assisted Habitat for Humanity’s Green Bay chapter in a construction build located at 1173 Chicago Street (http://hfh-wi-grb.huterra.com/content/1173-chicago-st-0). Although the day was cold and gloomy, the group finished remaining drywall work to have the house ready for the Monday morning plasterers. The project volunteers included: Jennifer Ronsman, Mark Ronsman (spouse), Jena Richter, Samantha Surowiec, Ron Kottnitz, John Arendt and David Arendt (son). The day was coordinated by Diana Delbecchi and Rachel Clement, Volunteer Coordinator for Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity. The event was organized by the Academic Staff Professional Development Planning Committee and lunch was provided (to the entire onsite crew) by the Provost’s Office. While tiring, fun was had by all … and most important, participants say, another Green Bay family will have the opportunity for home ownership.
