Top seniors earn Chancellor’s Leadership Medallions, University Leadership Awards
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will honor 11 graduating seniors for their outstanding academic and community achievement Friday, Dec. 13, presenting Chancellor’s Leadership Medallions and University Leadership Awards during a recognition event at the University Theatre in Theatre Hall on campus, 2420 Nicolet Drive.
Nine students will be presented with University Leadership Awards, which recognize undergraduates who have contributed to the growth and development of a registered student organization or who have exhibited a commitment to community service, while remaining in good academic standing. They are Kristy Burmeister, Kewaunee, Education; Kimberly Dawson, Oshkosh, Public Administration and Political Science; Bradley Doblar, Mukwonago, Political Science; Michael Duenkel, Manitowoc, Communication; Jennifer Gandt, Gillett, Education; Kayla Klemm, Little Chute, Psychology; Kathryn Ledvina, Green Bay, Psychology, Public Administration and Political Science; Emily Novack, Two Rivers, Human Biology; and Hekla Palmadottir, Kopavogur, Iceland, Mathematics and Business Administration.
Two graduating seniors will receive Chancellor’s Leadership Medallions in recognition of sustained academic and community achievement throughout their UW-Green Bay careers. They are:
Stephanie Sielaff, Niagara, Education, has held numerous positions in Zeta Omega Tau, UW-Green Bay’s service-oriented sorority. She has served as treasurer for the UW-Green Bay chapter of the Student Wisconsin Education Association, volunteering at Green Bay’s Freedom House shelter through her role in that organization. Sielaff also volunteers at the Bay Area Humane Society and has been involved in numerous other student organizations on campus. Her campus employment has included work as a Student Ambassador and Phuture Phoenix “Phellow,” the latter of which involves providing area schools with tutors for high-needs students. Sielaff’s academic achievements include Dean’s List high and highest honors, participation in UW-Green Bay’s Academic Excellence Symposium, invitation to join the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and Psi Chi International Honor Society, and receipt of the University Leadership Award.
Lauren Sinner, Verona, Art and Arts Management, is an award-winning artist who has pursued numerous on-and off-campus opportunities related to her field of study. Sinner has been a leader in UW-Green Bay’s Innovative Arts Management and Art Agency student organizations, taking on a host of roles including planning and budgeting for major events, coordinating fundraisers, recruiting new members and managing social media sites for group members. She has been involved with UW-Green Bay’s innovative Flax Project, and has served as a Textiles Studio Assistant, Summer Camps Gallery Assistant and Assistant Curator for UW-Green Bay’s Lawton Gallery. Sinner’s community volunteerism includes the ARTgarage and Green Bay Botanical Garden, and she has held multiple community internships. Her academic honors include semester honors and high honors, a Senior Show honorable mention, and receipt of the Art and Visual Design Purchase Award and University Union Purchase Award.
