Video: Welcome Prevea Health and changes to Counseling and Health
Hello UWGB, my name is Gail Sims-Aubert, and I’m proud to serve as your interim vice chancellor for Student Affairs and Campus Climate. I’m joining you today to announce UWGB’s partnership with Prevea Health to provide medical services and wellness support to all of our students at our four campuses.
Beginning this fall the Counseling and Health Center has been rebranded as the UW-Green Bay Wellness Center and will continue to be located here in the Student Services building on the Green Bay campus. Counseling services will continue to be provided to UW-Green Bay through the course of the summer, however primary medical care will now be provided by Prevea Health.
As I said, counseling services will remain open to our students this summer telephonically and soon virtually and Prevea Health’s medical services and UWGB’s counseling services are scheduled to be open for in-person services beginning August 17th here on the Green Bay campus. Prevea Health will also be providing medical care to students in the Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan communities in their local Urgent Care centers.
Additionally, all enrolled students will have access to Prevea Urgent Care locations throughout the region, care online for common conditions through Prevea virtual care and Prevea care after-hours, which allows students to reach a nurse by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Be sure to check our Wellness Center website (https://www.uwgb.edu/wellness-center) for details or call the Wellness Center directly (920-465-2380) to schedule a session with a counselor, to schedule a medical appointment with Prevea Health or to inquire about general questions or resources.
Our Wellness Center staff welcomes the opportunity to begin working with you so please help me in welcoming Prevea Health to our UW-Green Bay team.
Until next time, stay safe, stay well and go Phoenix!
