UW-Green Bay’s 6:30 Concert Series begins with ‘Exploring the Clarinet Repertoire with Eric Hansen’
GREEN BAY – The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s 6:30 Concert Series opens its season with, “Exploring the Clarinet Repertoire,” with clarinetist Eric Hansen and pianist Jennifer Larsen Page on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the Weidner Center’s Fort Howard Hall. Hansen will present a varied program of standard works and hidden gems for clarinet and piano. The concert is free and open to the public.
Hansen is the clarinet instructor and an associate professor of music at UW-Green Bay. A native of Wyoming, he is a dedicated teacher and an active performer of solo, chamber and large ensemble music. Having performed across the United States and internationally, Hansen’s expertise ranges from standard classical music to advanced contemporary music utilizing extended techniques for clarinet and also includes jazz and klezmer music.
The 6:30 Concert Series is designed to connect the campus with the community through the exploration of music. Performances feature insightful presentations by performers, composers and special guests. The series offers new perspectives on diverse styles, often exploring the music from multiple angles. All performances take place in the Weidner Center’s Fort Howard Hall. They begin at 6:30 p.m. and last between 60 and 90 minutes. Although the performances are free and open to the public, donations are accepted for the benefit of UW-Green Bay’s Music program.

Perhaps the most versatile space in the Weidner Center, the 45’ x 54’ 200-seat, theatre-style hall features a beautiful hardwood floor and retractable seating.
