Alumna Pam Roecker returns for COMM week banquet, Thursday, March 31
Pam Roecker ’83 (Communication) will share her experience as a student athlete and her extensive career in collegiate athletics and as a television broadcaster for college basketball games on major networks as the featured speaker for COMM Week. Roecker’s tremendously fast-paced, exciting and successful career is full of stories and life lessons all of us will enjoy and learn from.
Roecker is dean of athletics for Regis College. She graduated cum laude from UW-Green Bay where she was a member of the basketball team and an Academic All-American. In 1995, she was inducted into the University’s Hall of Fame. Roecker has served as a television broadcaster for college basketball games on major networks including ESPN3, Comcast SportsNet and NESN. She also served as the director of athletics and recreation for GNAC member Emmanuel College in Boston from 2003 to 2015. She most recently held the same position for Gann Academy in Waltham. Roecker has extensive coaching experience serving as an assistant basketball coach at UW-Green Bay, the University of Massachusetts and later at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. In 1990, Roecker was named the head coach of the women’s basketball team at Wagner College in New York City. In 1998, she was appointed the head coach for Loyola University in Chicago.
