Swingin’ for Support: Jazz Benefit for Camp Lloyd, April 5
The Blue Opus and Green Bay Jazz Orchestra (many musicians with UW-Green Bay ties) have teamed up for an evening of jazz to benefit, and raise financial support, for Camp Lloyd at 6:30 p.m. April 5, 2018. Camp Lloyd is a Northeastern Wisconsin summer camp for children ages 7-14 who have lost a loved one. In its 13th year, the camp is supported with private funding. Organizers say more children are in need of this type of support than ever before and are “calling on the help of their community to assist these kids to reclaim their childhood and realize that they are not alone in their grief.” Blue Opus will have its kitchen open for purchase of the full dinner menu. Expect fabulous items up for auction including vacation packages, personal training sessions, artwork and more! The concert and fundraiser is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Purchase advance tickets ($30) for the 6:30 concert. Doors open at 8 p.m. for the 8:30 evening jazz session — cover charge at the door is $10. All proceeds go to Camp Lloyd. Buy tickets in advance, here.
