Faculty note: Shelton presents at national conference
Assistant Prof. Jon Shelton (Democracy and Justice Studies) presented research at Teaching and Learning — an annual conference in Washington, D.C. that brings together teachers and influential thinkers in the American education system. Sponsored by the National Education Association, Shelton’s, “Public Education in the Age of Austerity and the Era of Friedrichs vs. California Teachers Association: A Labor History Perspective,” framed the recent history of American political economy to help teachers re-think the current possibilities for public education.
