Chancellor shares UW System budget-overview document

UW-Green Bay Chancellor Thomas Harden distributed an all-employee e-mail Wednesday morning (March 2) following Gov. Scott Walker’s budget address. He noted that UW-Green Bay officials are working to determine how the overall cut of $250 million in taxpayer funding to the UW System will play out here. Harden says UW-Green Bay’s share of the reduction will be in the neighborhood of 11 percent and $2 million, but it is unclear how much, if any, of the proposed 5.5 percent tuition increases can be applied to offsetting those cuts.
