Faculty note: Prof. Russ writes on current economic crisis

Prof. Meir Russ of UW-Green Bay’s Cofrin School of Business has published another essay at “Leonardo,” an online salon managed by the non-profit International Center for Foreign Relations. The site features analysis and commentary from academic and public-policy experts from around the world. Russ titled his piece “What Economists and Politicians Fail to Understand about the Current Crisis.” He suggests that while America debates President Obama’s jobs plan and its emphasis on rebuilding infrastructure, and a long and gradual decline in manufacturing jobs dominates the headlines, a tectonic shift in the job/labor market is taking place.
