Professor Gurung receives Distinguished Achievement Award
Congratulations to Professor Regan A. R. Gurung on his recent alumni award for Distinguished Career Achievement. He was honored among several Carleton College (Minnesota) alumni recently. Gurung is a widely published teacher-scholar who is described by others in the field as “an internationally known rock star in the teaching of psychology and the scholarship of teaching and learning.” Gurung graduated from Carleton in 1991with a B.S. in Psychology, and has since had innumerable successes in the academic community. A few of his achievements are receiving a Carnegie Foundation Wisconsin Teacher of the Year Award (2009), publishing material in journals such as American Psychologist and Psychological Review, along with fourteen books, including Evidence Based Guide to College and University Teaching and Health Psychology: A Cultural Approach. One of his more recent accomplishments was bringing a national psychology summit to UW-Green Bay. The recipients of these awards were nominated by classmates, Carleton faculty and staff members, and professional colleagues.
