Photos: Farewell to Dean Scott Furlong
Friends showed up in throngs for the farewell reception for Dean Scott Furlong. Furlong leaves for the provost position at SUNY-Oswego after a 24-year career with UW-Green Bay, most recently as Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Before his expanded duties he served for almost a decade as Dean of UW‑Green Bay’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Furlong earned a Ph.D. in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Administration from The American University (Washington D.C.) School of Public Affairs in January 1993 and May 1987, respectively. He attended the Harvard Institute of Management and Leadership in Education (MLE) in 2010. Furlong was awarded a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University (Canton, NY) in May of 1985.
Furlong is published extensively (books, journals, chapters and reviews) particularly in subject area of public and regulatory policy. He is co-author of the popular textbook, Public Policy: Politics, Analysis, and Alternatives (Washington D.C.:CQ Press).
