Faculty note: Dornbush, former ES&P grad student publish article

Josh Martinez, former Environmental Science and Policy graduate student and current Cofrin Center for Biodiversity natural areas land steward; and Mathew Dornbush, associate professor in Natural and Applied Sciences, recently had an article published in the April-June Issue of Invasive Plant Science and Management. The article, titled “Use of a Native Matrix Species to Facilitate Understory Restoration in an Overbrowsed, Invaded Woodland,” evaluates an alternative method for controlling the invasive forest herb garlic mustard in deer-rich Northeastern Wisconsin. The paper represents the culmination of Martinez’s master’s thesis work.
