Creative Writing grad returns as guest presenter
Another alumni success story! Casey Thayer, an alumnus of UW-Green Bay’s Creative Writing program and a former poetry editor of Sheepshead Review, will be returning to campus next week as a guest presenter at the annual Faculty Development Conference.
Thayer, who received his bachelor’s in English here in 2006 before continuing on for an MFA from Northern Michigan University, is now an assistant professor of English at UW-Rock County in Janesville.
His breakout session is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. in UU 103 at the Thursday (Jan. 20) event. The topic is the use of collaborative learning in general education courses, and Thayer’s presentation is titled “Overcoming the Piecemeal Paper: Strategies to Increase Collaboration in Group Writing Projects.” Sounds good to us (and probably to his Green Bay mentor, Prof. Rebecca Meacham of Humanistic Studies, as well).
