Prof. David Coury will be this month’s “Expert Spotlight.” In this webinar, Intercultural Communications in a Global Workplace, Thursday, Sept. 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Coury will explore important differences in communication, cultural norms and business practices that can complicate negotiations or even employee relations. Words and gestures can have very different meanings from one culture to the next. Moreover, cultural differences and expectations can impact your ability to communicate effectively and build relationships in different cultural contexts. While every culture is different, Prof. Coury will look at select examples from across the globe and provide you with the resources to inform yourself and your colleagues about what to look for and consider before embarking on an international venture.
