UW-Green Bay’s 40th annual Scholarship Golf Outing is taking a mulligan
For 40 years, this golf outing was a blast for alumni, faculty and staff, but the year, it’s taking a mulligan. Director of Alumni Relations, Kari Moody explains…
“The UW-Green Bay Scholarship Golf Outing is a longstanding, well-loved tradition for UW-Green Bay alumni and friends of the University. It’s a very social event where there’s as much fun had in the club house as there is on the golf course. Over the past forty years, the outing has evolved in every way, raising significant funds for student scholarships at UW-Green Bay.
This year’s outing is scheduled for June 12, 2020. We’ve been closely monitoring the WI Stay at Home order as well as the decisions of local and state nonprofits also holding summer outings to determine how to proceed. Out of an abundance of caution and concern for everyone’s health and safety, it’s been decided to cancel this year’s outing. It’s a special year as the 40th annual so we are going to “take a mulligan” this year and celebrate in a big way next June.
Thank you to those who already registered to golf. All registrations are 100% refundable but I invite you to use your registration as a gift to alumni scholarships at UW-Green Bay. The intent of the outing has always been to raise money for these impactful scholarships and the need is greater than ever for our students. Many students have lost jobs during this crisis and extra scholarship funds will go a long way to helping students meet tuition obligations. Your generosity will touch lives in a meaningful way and every student is sure to be deeply appreciative. Please let me know if you would like the Alumni Relations Office to administer your registration to alumni scholarships at UW-Green Bay.
