UW-Green Bay Concert Choir, Symphonic Band to perform Halloween-night concert
The UW-Green Bay Concert Choir and Symphonic Band will join forces for a Halloween-night concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31 in the Cofrin Family Hall at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.
The concert, UW-Green Bay Music’s third of the 2012-13 season, will include selections both Halloween-themed and not, and all attendees are welcome to come in costume. UW-Green Bay students and children who do so will receive free admission to the event.
The Halloween performance will kick off with the Concert Choir, with UW-Green Bay Associate Prof. Randall Meder conducting and featuring Emily Sculliuffo on the piano. The choir will perform such pieces as Thomas Morley’s “My Bonnie Lass She Smileth,” Jon Bennet’s “Weep, O Mine Eyes,” Josef Haydn’s “The Heavens Are Telling” (from The Creation) and Paul J. Christiansen’s “This Little Light of Mine.”
After a brief intermission, the Symphonic Band will take the stage, under the direction of UW-Green Bay Associate Prof. Kevin Collins. The Band will offer a more Halloween-themed lineup, featuring such pieces as John Williams’ “Harry Potter Suite,” selections from Andrew Lloyd Weber’s “Phantom of the Opera,” and Eric Morales’ “Through Darkened Sleepy Hollow.”
Tickets for the Concert Choir and Symphonic Band concert are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors, with children and UW-Green Bay students getting in free if wearing a costume.
