UW-Green Bay Chorale, Concert Choir takes stage Saturday, April 30
GREEN BAY –University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Concert Choir and Chorale will take the main stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, 2420 Nicolet Drive.
Music will feature from a variety of composers including Irving Berlin, Leonard Bernstein and Leonard Cohen. Professor Sarah Meredith Livingston will conduct the Concert Choir, while the Chorale is under the direction of Associate Prof. Randall Meder.
The Concert Choir will take the stage first, performing Irvine Berlin’s “Give me your tired, your poor;” Choral Selections from West Side Story (Leonard Bernstein, arranged by William Stickles) including, “One Hand, One Heart” and “America,” proceeding with “Comic Duet for Two Cats” (G. Rossini, arranged by Don Craig & Harold E. Mason), “De Animals a-Comin’” (arranged by Marshall Bartholomew), “‘Hallelujah’ from Shrek” (Leonard Cohen, arranged by Roger Emerson) and concluding with “One Moment in Time” (Albert Hammond & John Bettis, arranged by John Higgins).
Following a brief intermission, the UW-Green Bay Chorale will perform W.A. Mozart’s “Requiem, K. 626,” “Four Quartets, Op. 92” (Johannes Brahms), “We Shall Walk Through the Valley In Peace” (arranged by Moses Hogan), and “Feller From Fortune” (arranged by Harry Somers).
