Institute for Learning Partnership offers grants to educators
Educators in Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) districts 7 and 8 are invited to apply for Grants to Improve Teaching and Learning for the 2010-2011 academic year from the Institute for Learning Partnership at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
All teachers, administrators and other professionals affiliated with CESA districts 7 and 8 are eligible to apply. CESA districts 7 and 8 encompass much of Northeastern Wisconsin. Up to $35,000 will be awarded.
Requests for Proposals for projects of up to $7,500 will be accepted. Project proposals that explore effective approaches to closing the achievement gap will receive special consideration.
The Institute expects to award 10 to 15 projects under $1,500; four to nine from $1,500 to $3,000; three to five from $3,000 to $5,000; and one to three from $5,000 to $7,500.
The grant application deadline is 4:30 p.m. on March 12, 2010.
The Institute for Learning Partnership brings together area K-12 educators, universities, colleges, businesses, and community leaders in order to improve learning for all in grades pre-kindergarten through 16.
To help educators in writing RFP applications, UW-Green Bay faculty will offer two workshops about Action Research, which is integral in planning a grant. The workshops will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 26 in the 1965 Room of the University Union, and from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 28 in the CESA 8 office in Gillett. Registration is required and can be made by calling (920) 465-5555.
