Recent grad Dan Schultz gets NY Times mention for ‘FoodCorps’ work
The people in UW-Green Bay’s Human Biology and dietetics programs are proud as can be of May 2011 graduate Dan Schultz, recently selected one of 50 inaugural members (from more than 1,200 applicants) of FoodCorps, a division of AmeriCorps. Schultz and his colleagues are being assigned to help improve the nutritional health of children across the United States. Schultz will be working with the Des Moines Area School District to develop local food procurement practices (also known as Farm to School). Interesting stuff, and Schultz and others were recently featured in The New York Times and food columnist Mark Bittman’s blog; click here.
