Education students celebrate achievement
Seven UW-Green Bay teacher-preparation graduates received the program’s 2013 Outstanding Alumni Awards at a presentation May 8 at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.
The awards were part of the annual Celebration of Achievement presented by UW-Green Bay’s Professional Program in Education. Scholarships were also presented to undergraduates and Create Conference recipients. Special guest speaker for the evening was Rob Davis, a 2013 master’s in Education graduate and director of player personnel for the Green Bay Packers.
The alumni awards included:
Outstanding Pre-service Teacher to Marena Erickson, Outstanding Student Teacher to Marco Olson-Guillen of Green Bay Jackson Elementary, Outstanding New Graduate to Brianna Markowski of Green Bay Fort Howard Elementary, Excellence in Education to Joseph Zehren of Green Bay West High School business education and marketing, Outstanding Educator to Kraig Western of Winneconne Middle School social studies, Leadership and Service Award to Jonathon (Jo) Wiebel, principal of Green Bay Edison Middle School, and Friend of Education to Theresa Willems, executive director of pK-Elementary.
