UW-Green Bay students participate in innovation skills accelerator program
Five UW-Green Bay students recently completed an innovation skills accelerator program with The Commons, which places college students from 25 Wisconsin universities on interdisciplinary teams to work on real corporate and civic challenges as well as student startups, in Milwaukee. The five students applied to the program and were chosen for the Spring 2019 cohort. Jennifer Nowicki (Business Administration) and Chelsea Georgia (Business Administration) worked on a civic innovation project Swift Shift by RTLC. Courtney Gersek (Business Administration) worked on student startup Sekhere which is developing a one-stop solution for discovering and buying local retail items on-demand. Renee DeGrand (Business Administration) applied to The Commons to work on her own startup. DeGrand’s startup, Fervid Life, is creating an e-commerce platform categorized by unique hobbies and items for intensely passionate enthusiasts that large online retailers often miss. Charity Joy (Business Administration) worked on a corporate innovation project for We Energies.
