UW-Green Bay celebrates with in-person Commencement | 1330 & 101.5 WHBL

Students from throughout Sheboygan County were among 512 receiving their degrees from the UW-Green Bay at the Weidner Center this past Saturday.The 104th class, comprised of students from campuses in Green Bay, Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan, was the first to have an in-person ceremony since December of 2019, before the start of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The impact of that pandemic was noted in comments from speakers that included UW Regent Cris Peterson, Brown County Executive Troy Strekenbach and Student Speaker Kimberly Davis.  All acknowledged not only the struggles imposed by the pandemic, but also the accomplishments that resulted.As Regent Cris Peterson put it, “Opportunities often come from disasters, conflict, disease, disappointments and heartbreak…Rise like the Phoenix and make this the beginning you’ve dreamed of.”
