Prof. Vespia Appears on National Panel about Generative AI

Professor Kris Vespia (Psychology) recently served as one of five featured panelists for the American Psychological Association’s webinar titled “Pushing the boundaries of critical thinking: What’s next in the era of generative AI?” The invited speakers agreed on several key points, including the need for transparent communication with students and for movement beyond a place of viewing transformational tools such as ChatGPT simply as potential vehicles for academic dishonesty. Professor Vespia is also the Director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL). CATL (catl@uwgb.edu) offers workshops and individual consultations throughout the year on the effective use of technology, including generative AI, in pedagogical practice. Watch the panel.
