Nursing’s Tyczkowski honored by University of Kansas honorary

UW-Green Bay instructor Brenda Tyczkowski of the Professional Program in Nursing will be honored on May 10 by the Delta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International at the University of Kansas School of Nursing.  Tyczkowski will be awarded the Doctor of Nursing Practice Student Award for 2012. The award recognizes “leadership qualities through dedication to the pursuit of scholarly excellence, commitment to furthering the profession of nursing in my peer group, community activities and my contributions to the ongoing work of the development of new ideas to further the science of nursing.” Tyczkowski recently completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Kansas Medical Center.  Her capstone project, “The Caring Journey:  Staff Development in an Eden Alternative Facility,” explored the nature of caring behavior in a nursing facility and formulated staff development materials to enhance caring behaviors.
