The Book Club, Volume 2 (The Doubleheader) convenes at newARTSpace on April 14, 2022 at 6 p.m. This lively evening will feature another reading by author Ed Risden accompanied by artist (and UW-Green Bay Professor) Kristy Deetz and her delightful series of paintings from Holidays Unfolding that are the basis for their 2nd collaborative book entitled Holidays Unfolding: The Continuing Adventures of Rabbit and Kitty Boy. As Professor Heather Harvey of Washington College describes their project ,“The fantastical second book of Rabbit and Kitty Boy unfolds like dreams layered within dreams that journey along an unfolding pageantry of holidays and seasons.” Enjoy learning about the hidden secrets embedded in Deetz’s richly layered paintings and how Risden’s rich imagination brings them to life.
The gallery will be open 5 t0 7:30 p.m. The art exhibition NEW/ART II is on view with works by North East Wisconsin artists Dan Cross, Kristy Deetz, Carol Emmons, Tom Friese, Jane Hostetler, Minkyu Lee, Marjorie Mau, Karen Stewart and Terri Warpinski.
