Meinhardt’s Dec. 16 talk co-sponsored by Pride Center
Faculty member Daniel J. Meinhardt will speak at 7 p.m. next Wednesday (Dec. 16) in the Christie Theatre of the University Union. His topic will be “The Spectrum of Sex: A Personal Journey from Curious Scientist to Activist Artist.” Meinhardt is a board member of the Fox Valley group Positive Voice (http://www.pvinc.org/), which supports the LGBTQ community through education and outreach. An associate professor of Human Biology who also teaches in the Women and Gender Studies program, Meinhardt will focus on the biology of sex variation, but also include some background about how he got interested in the subject and how it has changed him personally. He will also discuss some of his current art projects (including a collaboration with Alison Gates of the UWGB Art faculty). The program, free and open to the public, is co-hosted by Positive Voice along with the Pride Center at UW-Green Bay.
