Faculty panelists to explore agriculture, health issues

UW-Green Bay’s Center for Food in Community and Culture will host a panel discussion from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, on the topic “Are We Restoring or Destroying Health? Exploring Agriculture from the Ground Up.” The program takes place in Mary Ann Cofrin Hall Room 208. Prof. Lynn Walter of Social Change and Development, co-director of the interdisciplinary center, says faculty panelists will include Angie Bauer-Dantoin of Human Biology along with Joanne Gardner and Debra Pearson of that unit’s nutritional sciences track; and Vicki Medland, instructor of Natural and Applied Sciences and associate director of the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity.  They will discuss the health impacts of contemporary agricultural and food production practices and address questions from the audience. The event is free and open to the public.
