Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, talented high schoolers to take the stage Wednesday
There’s a big Music concert on tap next week, as the UW-Green Bay Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band take the stage Wednesday (April 23), joined in the show by the 70 or so younger musicians who make up the State-Bound High School Honor Band. Conducted by UW-Green Bay Associate Prof. Kevin Collins, the concert will include two pieces (Frank Ticheli’s “Angels in the Architecture” and Ron Nelson’s “Resonances I”) featuring the Weidner Center’s 3,702-pipe Wood Family Organ. The show also will feature natural sounds recorded by UW-Green Bay alumnus Gordon Hempton ’76, also known as “The Sound Tracker.” For more, including a complete list of University and high school musicians, check out our news release.
