Friday’s NAS seminar: ‘The Flowering of Magma Bodies in the Crust’
Sounds almost sensual, doesn’t it? UW-Green Bay geoscientist and assistant professor Ryan Currier will address the topic “The Flowering of Magma Bodies in the Crust” when the NAS Seminar Series resumes this Friday afternoon (April 11). He’ll talk about laccoliths — shallow magmatic intrusions — and the many simulation experiments performed with wax and gelatin to understand how they form and grow. The answers, Currier says, are more complex than first thought. Friday’s program begins with a social at 3:15 p.m. in Room 317 of the Environmental Sciences Building, followed by the lecture at 3:45 p.m. in ES 301. Free and open to the public.
