Mark your calendar: ATS open house

“Come explore our space, experiment with our technology, and meet our staff at the ATS open house” scheduled for Friday, Sept. 21, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Instructional Services Room 1010. Refreshments will be served. ATS, of course, is the acronym for Academic Technology Services. Hands-on demonstrations will be available throughout the space: Play with video equipment, virtual worlds, web-conferencing tools, and more. Comments Learning Technology manager Leif Nelson, “At ATS, our combined learning technology and media services staff, in collaboration with CATL and the Adult Degree Program, provide end-to-end support of instructional technology from design and development to presentation and delivery both in the classroom and online.”

He adds, also, that ATS is open in more ways than one:
• Open Door — We welcome drop-ins and visits during our business hours of 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily

• Open Design — Come see our new open concept space

• Open Minds –We are always open to your suggestions and ideas for new technologies, ways to improve our services, or any other ideas you have

While visiting the ATS open house, be sure to stop by Public Safety’s just down the hall in IS 1024. They are having their Open House at the same time on the same day. (Yes, it was planned!) They’ll will be showing off their newly remodeled space, as well, including their new conference room and in-wall aquarium (along with a little cake, too).
