Tetschlag, Hoewisch to play in Belgium

Speaking of amazing alumni, we found out just today that Phoenix women’s basketball stars Kayla Tetschlag and Celeste Hoewisch will team up once again — this time, as professional hoopstresses (a word we just made up) with the pro team Waregem in Belgium. Tetschlag and Hoewisch helped lead the Phoenix to an incredible 2010-11 season that culminated in the team’s first-ever Sweet 16 appearance. Tetschlag delivered our May 2011 commencement address and recently received the Horizon League’s top individual student-athlete honor, the Cecil N. Coleman Award.
