Applications being accepted for Paul and Thea Sagar Scholarship in Memory of Edward W. Weidner
Please encourage students to apply for The Sager Scholarship. It recognizes a UW-Green Bay undergraduate who has demonstrated excellence in scientific writing resulting from a classroom or extracurricular academic activity. Many different activities at UW-Green Bay can provide the basis for a Sager Scholarship submission. Examples include a scientific manuscript based on independent student research; an in-depth lab report from a classroom assignment; an online blog describing an academic travel course, student project or field trip; a review of current scientific literature about a topic of interest; or a grant proposal for future research. If using a report or document from a classroom activity, you may add to or revise the composition to help make it more competitive for this award. Guidance by one or more faculty members is expected, but applicants must show evidence of originality, initiative and primary authorship of the composition. Deadline for submission is Monday, April 23, 2018. A letter from a faculty mentor may be included with the application but is not mandatory. Submit materials to Professor Robert Howe, Cofrin Center for Biodiversity, Mary Ann Cofrin Hall 212 or via an online form available in early March at the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity website. Email applications to Howe at hower@uwgb.edu with the words “Sager Scholarship 2018” in the subject line.
