Miller, Reisenauer advance in liberal arts essay contest, earn scholarships
Students Andrea Reisenauer of Sheboygan and Paula Miller of Green Bay have been selected to represent UW-Green Bay in the 8th annual Liberal Arts Essay Scholarship Competition sponsored by a UW System advisory group on the liberal arts. As statewide finalists, each woman receives a $500 scholarship toward tuition, and will have her essay published on campus in the fall 2013 edition of the Sheepshead Review. Reisenauer’s essay is titled “The Power of the Educated People.” Miller’s was “My Liberal Arts Education.” Entries were reviewed by a panel that included Andrew Kersten, Scott Furlong, Chuck Rybak, David Helpap and Aurora Cortes. The competition, sponsored by SAGLA (the System Advisory Group on the Liberal Arts), is part of the LEAP initiative (Liberal Education and America’s Promise) and will announce its winners and additional scholarship awards later this spring.
