“Being obnoxious and playing music, my two favorite things. It’s really fun. I love being in Pep Band.”

There’s no question about the high energy and hype the UW-Green Bay Phoenix Pep Band brings to campus life and events! And they are always looking for students to join in! If you’re a musician and love to have fun, then the Phoenix Pep Band is where you can bring the noise to hype up the crowd at UW-Green Bay Phoenix basketball games!

Transcript: [Music] You have an instrument you want to play? Join the Pep Band. It’s really fun. I love being in Pep Band. When the conductors start bouncing, you know you’ve got to pick up your instrument. We’ll pick up our instruments at the side and try to play as fast as we can. We are as loud as we can be with cheers and different chants. Always yelling, always trying to root for our team, no matter what is happening. We will be in your corner, backing you up. We spend so much energy cheering the team on that the next day we are completely exhausted, but if there’s another game, we will continue to cheer on till we lose our voices. Pep Band is open to everybody. There’s a lot of really talented musicians in Pep Band, and like people who are going to school for music, but Pep Band is also really beginner-friendly. It’s very welcoming. If you can express yourself, I get paid to be loud and to try to entertain and to let myself as have as much fun as I can. Being obnoxious and playing music, my two favorite things. It’s a family, I really see it as a family. Pep Band is definitely a lot of family. I have a lot of my closest friends in here. Like the opportunity to meet new people. To meet more friends. Meet people that share interests with you. What I really like about the Pep Band is the people in Pep Band. [Applause] [Music]
