Dr. Keir Wefferling Leads Bryophyte Workshop in Door County
From May 11-13 Dr. Keir Wefferling, Herbarium Curator, led a field workshop on identification of bryophytes in peat-accumulating wetlands, focused on species in fens and white cedar swamps in Door County. The 18 people who participated, identified around 60 species of moss and liverwort (at least three of them are new County records). The Door County region of Wisconsin is rich in species due to the high quality and unique natural plant communities.
