Jeff Jacobs hired as new Chief Facilities Officer
Sheryl Van Gruensven, CBO and senior vice chancellor for Institutional Strategy, is pleased to announce Jeff Jacobs as the new Chief Facilities Officer, who will begin his position on January 23rd.
Some may remember Jeff was a top finalist for this position when a national search was conducted in the summer of this year. Jeff comes to UW-Green Bay from the HSHS Healthcare System where he has been the Divisional Director of Facilities – Wisconsin Division since 2017 overseeing multiple locations across the state. Prior to his role at HSHS, Jeff served as Director of Facilities Operations – Michigan for three years and has over 20 years of additional experience in facilities management roles. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science degree from UW-Stout, where he also served in a lecturer role for three years between 1998-2000.
Jacobs will lead all aspects of the Facilities Planning and Management division at the main physical plant in Green Bay and three additional branch locations in Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan. Areas of oversight include capital planning, design, and construction; campus planning and landscape architecture; environmental sustainability, physical plant, building maintenance, custodial operations, central receiving/mail services, and space management. Jacobs will be responsible for supporting the university’s mission through strategic planning activities for short and long-term facility and capital planning direction.
