Faculty note: Prof. Sherry Warren recognized as a CSWE Scholar
Assistant Prof. Sherry Warren (Social Work), was recognized by the the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE) as a scholar in Global and Intercultural Competence. Warren joins the first cohort of CSWE Scholars (13 scholars) with this distinction from across the United States.
The CSWE scholars will form a community of educators integrating global and intercultural competence into social work courses using a curricular model developed by the Diversity Center in a unique collaboration with Words Without Borders Campus. Courses that Warren teaches that she will integrate into the curricular model include SOC WORK 204 Sustainability and Social Problems, and SOC WORK 720 Diversity, Social Justice and Advocacy. Educators are striving to “create international social workers, professionals who can work with people from all over the planet,” Warren said.
