Faculty note: Work of Alison Gates on exhibit in Appleton, Sept. 6

The work of three Wisconsin-based textile artists will be on exhibition at the Feather and Bone Gallery, located in The Draw, Appleton, Wisconsin. UW-Green Bay Prof. Alison Gates (Art) (Appleton), Patricia Filzen (Appleton) and Heidi Parkes (Milwaukee). “Through the historical perspective of craft and ‘women’s work,’ the pieces in the exhibition will at times speaks on feminism, environmentalism, and politics, while at other times pull back remembrances of home, comfort, and familiarity.”

Exhibition will be installed September 6-28, 2019. Free.

The curator is UW-Green Bay alumnus Cristian Andersson ’13 (Art and Design), also a frequent teacher in the UW-Green Bay Summer Art Camps.
